The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven marks the completion of Mary’s life as Handmaid of the Lord and Mother of Jesus and the beginning of her role in heavenly glory as the Mother of the Church and the Queen of Heaven and earth. The Church traditionally observes this feast day of our Blessed Lady as a day of obligatory Mass attendance. The Latin Mass Community of St. Therese will observe this day with a High Mass at 7PM on Monday, August 15, preceded by Confessions at 6:30PM.
